Hitting Winners is Extra Sweet during Berger Open

The Berger Opens held at 9:00 and 10:30 am today were lots of fun.  “Berger” points were awarded for every winner hit by a doubles teams and everyone enjoyed sampling Berger cookies (the official cookie of Baltimore).  This is a wonderful exercise in evaluating if an offensive shot should be a winner (opponent’s racquet doesn’t touch the ball) or a forcing shot (opponent makes contact with the shot but isn’t able to put the ball back in play).  Congratulations to the winners: Sue Gunther and Lorraine Samara (9:00) and Meredith Dossin and Elaine McCoola (10:30).  Thanks to all of the participants for such a sweet time on the courts.
