Summer Elite Camp |
Tennis Network Summer Camp USTA Local Excellence Program TN at Princeton Racquet Club 2010 The Princeton Racquet Club Facility provides the camper with training opportunities on two different surfaces, hard and clay. The indoor facility is available during rainy hours - no additional charge. CAMP IS CONDUCTED RAIN OR SHINE!
The TN summer tennis camp will be held at the Princeton Racquet Club. The camp is conducted for children, ages 7-17 years. Campers, depending on their age and ability level, will be assigned into one of two programs: Junior Development Camp or Tournament Training/Elite Camp (10-17 years). Campers may register for morning, afternoon or all day sessions. Enrollment is very limited and will be on a first come (payment with application), first serve basis. Supervision will be offered during the lunch break for all day campers. The indoor courts will be used for the younger campers, especially to protect them from the sun and heat. In case of rain, all campers will use the indoor courts, fitness room and lobby areas without any additional charge. The picnic/refreshment areas, rest room facilities and locker rooms are available for the campers' convenience. The air conditioned lobby areas (with tv) are a favorite cooling off spot for campers to enjoy their beverages, snacks and to watch Wimbledon during their breaks. EARLY JUNE“PRE” CAMP Tennis clinics are conducted for youngsters who are on school vacation early in the summer. Session will contain instructional and match activities. Sign up for half or all day session. GIRL'S HIGH SCHOOL PREP CAMP Tennis clinics designed to prepare and challenge girls who are trying out or have secured a spot on the high school team. The rates and times are the same as regular camp. August 2-6 and August 9-13. “TEACHING INDIVIDUALS IN A GROUP ENVIRONMENT” The philosophy of the PRC junior program is to teach each child in a fun environment that will be challenging and help them reach their full potential. Fundamental stroke development with an emphasis on consistency, placement and depth is the foundation for each child. Proper ability grouping is vital to help each child develop and improve his/her self-esteem. We want children to be successful in their groups, rather than try to survive, at their own benefit and at the expense of the other children. In addition to the pro's assessment, results from skill tests and match play will aid in ability grouping. JUNIOR DEVELOPMENTAL CAMP Campers, ages 7-16, beginners through intermediate levels, will be ability grouped the first day of each session. Emphasis will be on stroke development, placement and depth, spins and footwork. Rules, positioning, strategy and tactics will be presented in drill and match situations. TOURNAMENT TRAINING/ELITE CAMP Campers must be committed to reaching their full potential and be actively pursuing a junior ranking or position on a school tennis team. Training will take place on clay and hard courts. These campers should already demonstrate consistency, placement, depth and various spins on all shots. More emphasis will be on constructing points, developing a complete game, strategy, mental toughness, and conditioning. Coaching and transportation to local USTA tournaments & exchange matches will be provided. SESSIONS Register for the morning, afternoon or all day. Instructional (9:00 am–noon) Match Play (1:00-4:00 pm) RATES (same as 2009):
